Hobson & Porter has announced that its sponsorship of two of Bishop Burton’s football teams, the HE Football Academy and the u19 Football Academy, will continue.
The HE Football Academy team currently plays in the British University and Colleges League (BUCS) and is currently showing great form, being ranked top of the league.
The younger u19 Football Academy team plays in the National College Premiership North East Region. The young team, the majority of which is under the age of 17,
Hobson & Porter were once again delighted to join forces with the Shoreline Housing Partnership on a council house regeneration project on the Southbank of the Humber. We have been refurbishing recently vacated council houses in both Grimsby and Immingham in preparation for new tenants to move in.
The regeneration scheme, which began last September and will continue well into spring, consists of various works including brickwork improvements, electrical installations and repairs to windows,
We are delighted to be joining a number of other notable organisations in celebrating National Apprenticeship week.
The initiative is aimed at increasing awareness of apprenticeships as a valuable way into employment, and highlighting the scope for taking them anywhere, enhancing both personal development and the potential for career progression.
Hobson & Porter are not only celebrating apprenticeships per se, but are paying particular attention to the success of our own apprentices and to the launch of our own initiative the H&P Foundations Scheme whereby we will work in collaboration with our own supply chain and Bishop Burton College to support skills training in the area.

Students from Bishop Burton were given the opportunity to gain invaluable experience at one of Hobson & Porter’s live construction sites – Pocklington Arts Centre.
The award-winning construction firm has a long-standing relationship with Bishop Burton College, which enrols students on intermediate and advanced apprenticeships designed to equip them with vital construction skills.
The initiative was organised by Pauline Steele, Hobson & Porter’s Employment and Skills Coordinator, who arranged the visit to the site in Pocklington for seven students and two tutors from Bishop Burton College – one of the UK’s leading land-based colleges.
Work to convert a former Cleethorpes school into a 74-bed care home has begun.
We are delivering the project on behalf of Yorkare Homes Ltd and started demolition work at the old Lower Lindsey School in the town in July.
Part of the building, which was built in 1925, will remain intact and be the subject of a complete refurbishment to make way for the care home as well as a dementia unit.

The new £3m Emmaus Hull community has its hat on after VIPs laid the final roof tile today (July 22, 2015).
The homeless charity, in partnership with Chevin Housing Association (a member of the Together Group), welcomed Lord Mayor of Kingston upon Hull Councillor Anita Harrison and her Consort Councillor Peter Lord to place the final tile on the roof of The Orchard building in Lockwood Street, which is being developed by Hobson & Porter.
The development is being funded by Chevin Housing Association and other organisations including the Homes and Communities Agency,
Construction firm Hobson & Porter has appointed three new directors to its board as it looks to continue its rapid growth.
Following one of the company’s most successful months – Hobson & Porter secured £18m worth of work in May, it has welcomed Jon Craven as Minor Works Director, Richard Hunter as Commercial Director and Mike Gibbin as Financial Director.
Mr Craven and Mr Hunter have been appointed to the board having held previous positions within the company;

The Hull construction firm was announced as the runner-up in the People’s Choice Award at a glittering awards ceremony in London on Thursday night (June 11, 2015).
Hobson & Porter was first shortlisted by the awards’ judging panel before the eventual winners in each category were determined by public vote.

Workers at Hobson & Porter have shown their support to Cancer Research UK by donning special hi-vis jackets for the day.
The jackets were worn by the team working on the new Riseholme College in Lincoln.
Each employee was asked to wear a jacket labelled with the words ‘Beating Cancer Sooner’ in return for a donation.
