A project transforming the energy efficiency of 130 homes in Bridlington will take on the country’s best schemes for a prestigious national award at the Constructing Excellence National Awards on Friday, November 8th.
The awards will be held at the London Marriott Grosvenor Square Hotel with over 500 built environment professionals coming together for the finale.

Our team recently transformed the site of a former 1960’s-built care-facility in Pontefract into 12-new build, two-bedroom homes.
The Monument House scheme was for the Wakefield and District Housing Ltd (WDH) with the plots orientated in a half-circle on a roundabout.
We demolished the two-storey care facility before building the homes. They are adjacent to the already built WDH-owned and operated 72-bed care home named Monument Mews.
Each of the dwellings is identical, offering a ground floor compromising a kitchen diner,
Hobson & Porter has completed 10 new affordable semi-detached homes in South Cave.
The dwellings at West End Farm were built in five pairs comprising four, two-bed houses and six, three-bed houses, for East Riding Council. The scheme was part-funded by Homes England.
The project, which took 60 weeks, required consultation with external parties on ecological issues, including trees and nesting birds. As well as the housing the project required significant improvements to the access road to take it to adoptable standards.

We are nearing the completion of our first work with EN:Able Build to improve the supply of affordable homes in the North of England.
24 affordable homes, a mix of two and three-bed, are being built at the Hawkins Close site in Harworth, near Doncaster.
The work, due for completion at the end of October, is being completed for Together Housing – one of the largest housing associations in the North of England.
The scheme was destined to be developed as homes for private sale until EN:Able Build agreed terms with the original developer for the scheme to be redesigned and developed as exclusively affordable homes.

Teenager Owen Walker has added to his ever-increasing medal haul over the last 12 months whilst gaining experience playing in adult competitions.
He’s also been representing Yorkshire at under-18 level – where he has been selected as one of only five boys in the first team. Owen was also involved with the prestigious Inter Counties Tournament at Nottingham University where Yorkshire finished an impressive third out of 34 counties.
Hobson & Porter has completed the construction of 10 new retail units on Wawne Road in Hull.
A convenience store, veterinary practice and bakery are among those moving in to the units between North Bransholme and Kingswood as part of the Priority Space development.
Hobson & Porter provided a full design and build service from basic design principles, with the units ranging in size from 470 sq ft to 2,880 sq ft.

Hobson & Porter staff are making great strides forward in getting our colleagues’ daughter specialist therapy and specialist apparatus.
They are taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge – walking over 24 miles, climbing Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, all in under 12-hours. The challenge will now be taking place on Saturday 14th September, after being postponed in August due to a severe weather warning.
The money raised will go towards a supportive sitting aid for our colleague Amie and her partner Matt Cundill’s two-year-old daughter Maddison.
